The small, charming village of Santa Caterina is ideal for school groups, particularly for beginner and intermediate skiers. Ski lifts go to an altitude of 2725m, with slopes always perfectly covered in snow, due to a modern snow installation system. The ski schools are well organised ensuring quick progression for all levels of skier. Also, from Valfurva you can ski down from the Mount Sorbretta slopes right into the centre of town.
Resort
With good ski schools, great snow making facilities and ski lift attendants, the conditions are ideal for snow-sure skiing and enjoyment on the slopes. Some great athletes have developed on the slopes of Santa Caterina, for example Deborah Compagnoni, the champion of Italian alping skiing, and Pietro Vitalini, the famous downhill skier.
Ski Level
Santa Caterina is a ‘white paradise’ with 35kms of ski slopes for all level of skier. The ski stadium has a completely enclosed nursery slope with easy chairlifts for complete beginners. Intermediates will have the chance to progress following the many long red runs from the top of the mountain into the village.
